only you could ever be everything to me

That voice!!! This sort of resigned, pleading male voice slays me. Every single time I encounter it.

* Busy busy here getting the menfolk ready for their annual, albeit a bit shortened, mancamp. Just a long holiday weekend this year rather than the week-long extravaganza.

* We are getting smoked out by a huge wildfire a few towns over. It's BAD. Like don't open the windows bad....but we also have no A/C and are beginning our descent into another blistering heat wave. 111 for Saturday?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

* Also, did ya'all know that 8,000 Texans perished in a hurricane in 1900? I keep sending money to the animal helpers because HEARTSTRINGS.

And this *cries*

Reminds me of Damien Rice, who used to make me ugly cry

Yes! Damien is a definite god of tears. I'll have to compile a list of my fave male voices!

I feel for you, E. Couldn't open my windows last night after a 32C day, haven't been able to open them at all today, because of the smoke from the B.C. fires. So, I know something of what you're going through. But your fires are much closer than ours. ((Hugs))

I am struck by the Heart in Texas. People helping one another, doing as much, giving as much, as they can. And yes, the poor critters. Heartwrenching.

Oh, have you heard? Alias Grace has been made into a mini-series. I'm looking forward to it airing.

Pretty busy. Med appointments all month, and next month too. I get a little panicky when I realize how much I have to do in such a short time.

Behind on my Idol reading. So far behind.

*hugs* Oh, M, that sounds pretty bad up there, too.

Texas is just heartbreaking. So much loss! Life, dwelling, pianos....

It's good to be busy, though!

Yeah, the reading AND THE VOTING!!!! @_@

Oh, he does have a great voice <3

I'm in your state!! But in Anaheim, for Dolpa -- just arrived, am exhaustedly flopped on my hotel bed.

(It's a short trip, and sadly one that has to be economical, since our housemate unexpectedly had to move out after only 3 months due to a family emergency. Flying back on Sunday morning -- I'd made my plans to go at the beginning of the year, so I didn't cancel the trip, but I had to keep it brief.)

I hope that the fire is brought under control soon, and that you can enjoy your airflow again!

Houston has been breaking my heart -- we're about 275 miles away, so our area is safe, but I have friends there who have been flooded out. The devastation is literally unbelievable, it makes my brain short out to see the news.

Glad you're donating to animal charities, they really need it right now. Dallas SPCA has been taking in as many displaced pets as they can.

*very tired hugs*

*hugs* Get some rest and then have some fun! Take pictures! I totally would have met you down there for Dolpa, A!!! I'm so out of the doll loop - let me know next time you do a doll thing!!!

Yeah, this Texas tragedy is so staggering. Glad you're good, though.

Oh noooo!! I thought you knew about it and decided not to come -- I wish I'd said something!

Sorry to miss you! I had originally been thinking about doing Dolpa + a road trip up the coast, and definitely would have checked in if I was going to be closer to you, but then money wound up being tight due to Gemma having to bail on our housemate arrangement :/

*big big hugs*

I'm sorry to hear about the fire. No A/C is a great idea, until you need it! I hope you have lots of fans. A mancamp? That could be lots of fun, letting the testosterone run free. Even the reduced one.

The Galveston Hurricane was devastating. They still talk bout it as a forewarning every year when hurricane season comes around and its' been over 100 years.

The help in Texas doesn't surprise me, but! I will never, ever roll my eyes a redneck with a ridiculous lift kit again. Lesson learned and I'm the jerk.

We had to deal with the smoke from the wildfires up in Canada last month and we were miserable. I wouldn't let the kids play outside because it was so bad. Fortunately, we have portable ACs and cable now.

We're thinking about adopting one of the shelter dogs. We got Sophie from the SPCA right after Katrina and the shelters were packed.
