home again home again jiggety jig

* We have returned from the coast! And had to drive through a frightening fire on 101. And it was horrid but nothing compared to what's happening further south, down in Wine Country. Terrible, terrible. Several fires burning around here, but nothing that threatens us. The air is dangerous and we all woke with headaches this morning.

* The night before we left for the ocean we went to a teensy circus! Fun! They had an amazing tent, but other than that it was pretty much amateur hour. Not that that bothers me. I'm all about circus no matter who or what or where. All of the performers also acted as hawkers during the intermission, so I was able to run after one of the two clowns as he was selling ginormous balloons and get this picture! The two clowns were actually amazing!

* Trying out LJ's scrapbook feature -

A wonderful old Catholic cemetery on the coast. Mainly Irish loggers -

* I have finished "IT" and have opinions and thoughts. I'll be posting over in pathos_horror tomorrow morning.

* I'm trying to begin seeding something for NaNo. Not sure yet what is going to take root.

Welcome home! I was thinking about you, and yours, and the fires. Terrible. So glad you're safe. I'm not home yet. Haven't been reading. Haven't been doing anything except enjoying the Feast.

Thanks, M! So glad you're enjoying yourself! THAT is wonderful to hear!

When are you back?

Home now! Got back around seven-ish. It was a delightful time. Our Feast-site this year was just a few miles down the highway, but we had such a wonderful time it was like another planet.

I'm heading to (my own) bed and (my own) pillows in about half an hour. (Happy Sigh)

that beach is gorgeous.

all the fire news makes me think of you, and i'm really glad you're not in danger. (except from the air, which, ew. it sounds really unpleasant.)

The northern California coastline is something to see! And it just keeps getting more and more beautiful the further north you go! I loved our small vacay!

Gods, these fires. I cannot believe the devastation. Smoke isn't too bad this morning, hope that means they are getting things under control.

Beautiful graveyard! I love looking at old graves.

After the fires we had last year, I understand what you're going through with the smoke. We've been getting hurricane remnants for the last month so maybe we won't have anything as bad as Gatlinburg this year but there are a lot of doofuses who think they know how to camp up in the mountains.

We always stop when we spy an older cemetery. This one was particularly beautiful overlooking the sea.

The smoke is BAD. But we have no way to circulate our air so we have to crack doors and windows. Less smoke today so I hope that means good things for the fires. Yep, campfires are so dangerous even if you are experienced! The Napa fires seem as though they are going to be arson based.

I've always loved your photos :)

I have...oh, do I even dare call them seedlings?...re Nano. What I've been getting are flashes of images here and there, like scenes from a movie. They're there and gone, and try as I might I can't seem to evoke the response I had when I actually saw them.

Thanks! I love sharing pix...I hope this LJ option keeps working!

SEEDLINGS!!! Keep watering them! Keep turning on the gro-light! You must write with us! I'm having trouble with mine, too. Let's talk shop soon - maybe next week!

Lovely photos; glad you had such a good time, and are safe home now. Here's hoping the rain comes early to California. *hugs* Hang in there; keep watering the seedlings!
