* We are leaving this morning for the coast. It's hard for me to leave my mother for three days, but she does have something on her calendar for Thursday. So that's good. We also got her set back up with Netflix and Kidling2 was over there yesterday teaching her how to work the TV remote because technology.

* Kidling2 and his gf are leaving for Mexico in the morning. Kidling1 was supposed to go, asked for the trip as her graduation gift, but over the holidays realized that she simply could not fit it in with her internship. So, she cancelled. Even with the travel insurance, we lost ducats, but that's how it goes. Now she's bummed out but I'm sure that will pass once she is doing jury selection for a murder trial next week.

* We are really enjoying Netflix's Altered Carbon. Well, except for the backstory episode which is a great teaching tool to writers. Don't do that. :)

I will never get enough of DEE's voice -

We're halfway through Altered Carbon and I'm not entirely thrilled with it. SO, OTOH, is fascinated. It's more up his alley anyway. From a writerly standpoint I find it confusing in places, and it's difficult for me to thread my way back to where I initially was confused. I find that happening more and more lately. It's almost like sloppy writing goes hand in hand with having to get something filmed in a short space of time (see The Cloverfield Paradox for a prime example).

Is the backstory episode #5? That's as far as I've gotten -- watching the show with my friend Matt, so we're binging on a few episodes at a time. Going to go watch more on Tuesday!

I hope everyone's trips go well, and that your mother is okay while you're away.

**hugs**

It's good that your mother's got something to do on Thursday.

I know what you mean about the back story episode but it does turn out to deliver necessary info if in a badly done way. I do love the way the show over laps circles of foreshadowing though.

It's good for you to get away, and the coast is so beautiful. I hope this false (I hope) Spring lasts for you, and then let's have some major storms dumping huge amounts of snow in the mountains. I fear we're heading into another drought.

Glad you're getting to go to the coast. It's soothing and invigorating, a nice combination. Have a lovely time.

Go and get some ocean, girl! Let your soul drink it in and fill you up, then come back and tell us all about the wonder. Big hugs!

It's good your mom has the thing on Thursday and Netflix to keep her occupied. Nice of Kidling2 to teach her how to work everything.

Just finished AC and really dug it. It has its warts, but it's nice to see a series that they really tossed a lot of money at and let be. It feels a lot like a (unrefined) sci-fi Game of Thrones, and I wonder if that's what Netflix wants it to be.
